With over 15 years of professional experience, Nate Barnes is an accomplished drummer, composer, producer, engineer, and singer/songwriter. Some of his career highlights include playing with Pete Townshend, Warren Haynes, Leslie West, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Ryan Bingham, Rose Hill Drive, Grace Potter, Matisyahu, and many others. He has toured the world headlining shows and opening for acts such as The Who, Van Halen, Aerosmith, Willie Nelson, Stone Temple Pilots, The Black Crowes, Queens Of The Stone Age, Jane’s Addiction, and more. In addition to collaborating and recording with legendary producers/engineers Brendan O’Brien, Jim Scott, and Nick DiDia, he has also co-produced and co-written 4 critically acclaimed, full length albums with his band Rose Hill Drive. His drumming is featured on 2 releases from Oscar and Grammy award winning artist Ryan Bingham ("Fear And Saturday Night" and "Ryan Bingham Live"), and he is the drummer for multiple Grammy award winner Mary Chapin Carpenter.
As a composer, Nate has had his works placed with HBO, Ford, Target, Great Clips, Chase, Facebook, Whirlpool, and many others. He has performed on multiple national TV shows, and has had songs selected to be in video games such as Guitar Hero and Tony Hawk. In 2014, he co-wrote, engineered, and mixed the score for the movie "A Country Called Home" along with Ryan Bingham and Daniel Sproul. Nate also completed a Masters Certificate in Songwriting And Guitar, with elective course emphasis in audio engineering from the Berklee College of Music in 2011. Additionally, Nate has his own solo project called Plutinos which released it's debut album in 2018. He has logged countless hours in professional studios and is an in-demand session drummer, composer, producer, and engineer. Specializing in Rock, Pop, Indie, Country, Americana, and Folk, Nate has earned a reputation as multi-faceted talent capable of bringing a myriad of skills to any musical project. Nate lives in Nashville, TN with his wife Holly, son Lleyton, daughter Campbell, and dog Bailey.
